Many years ago, French explorer Antoine de la Motte Cadillac founded a city on the north bank of the Detroit River. The city he founded, Detroit, is now synonymous with the American automobile industry, which is why it is colloquially known as Motown. Henry Leland founded the Cadillac Car Company.
