Kia Motors has issued an emergency recall of approximately 3,900 2023 Forte sedans, asking drivers not to drive them until dealers have a chance to make safety repairs.
Kia told federal motor vehicle safety officials that a joint in the car’s right front lower control arm may not have been properly welded. It may be damaged during use and result in partial loss of steering control.
Owners will be notified via email and asked to make arrangements with the dealer to have their vehicle towed for repair. Recall repairs and necessary towing are always free.
The dealer plans to replace the right front lower control arm to resolve this issue.
Manufacturers recall many vehicles at least once. They try to contact all owners, but not all owners necessarily get the news. Find out if your vehicle needs recall-related repairs at our recall center.
