Chrysler was originally founded in 1925 by Walter Chrysler using the remains of the Maxwell Motor Company. One of the Detroit Big Three, it was acquired by Daimler-Benz in 1998. In 2007, Daimler sold Chrysler and it became Chrysler LLC until 2009. Since 2009 it has been known as Chrysler Group.
