Kia Motors may replace the engines in up to 80,000 Sorento SUVs starting with the 2011 model year due to a series of engine fires that the automaker cannot explain.
The company told federal safety regulators, “Engine compartment fires can occur during operation for a variety of reasons, and the cause must be determined depending on the severity of the fire.” .
